Curated, application-reviewed group
- Best for
- People joining solo who care as much about group chemistry as the route.
- Trade-off
- You request an invite rather than booking instantly, and flights remain separate.

The ExCo difference
Bucketlist Japan is for people who want a planned route without being processed through it. Applications are reviewed for the edition, and a facilitator helps the group become more than strangers sharing transport.

Visa planning
Ordinary Indian passport holders need a visa for short-term tourism. The Embassy of Japan in India says applications are submitted through VFS, no prior appointment is required, and applications can be accepted from three months before travel. From 1 July 2026, the published fee for Indian nationals is an INR 500 government fee; a VFS service fee also applies.
ExCo recommends starting document preparation 6-8 weeks before departure. That is a planning buffer, not a government processing-time promise.
ExCo's visa support starts after your invite is confirmed. The final visa decision and current requirements remain with the official authority.

Questions before you choose
No. It is an application-reviewed small-group journey operated through Bucketlist by ExCo. The route and anchor experiences are planned, but the format deliberately keeps room for independent time and group-led detours. The live edition page is the source of truth for current dates, price and inclusions.
Yes. You can apply solo; you do not need to arrive with a friend or partner. ExCo reviews applications for the specific edition before sending a booking invite.
